Priced high, but given the 1975 Impala wagon with low options that sold for $9600 on eBay last week, his price is not unrealistic.

Guys, know the price is high but find another '76 Caprice Estate.

Beautiful car. I think its the same owner. Both cars located in same city and if you look close, you can see the yellow Impala wagon beside of it in one of the pics.

The exterior colors remind me a lot of my wagon, but I think mine is a little darker.

*Interesting interior note - the '76 Caprice wagons seem to have the same identical door panels as the '76 Impala wagons. I know that at least the 71-74 Caprice wagons had the Caprice emblem on the door panels.

Yeah, I really like the Caprice wagon much better, its also a higher optioned optioned car. Will be interesting to see where the bidding ends up.

I guess this was considered the grandest and latest out there of the Chevy clamshell wagons, being the last year for the clamshell and this one being the top of the line model. Looks like if this one had of been optioned with tilt wheel and comfortron A/C, it would have been loaded to the max.

Also, does not have six-way power driver's seat nor or we told which engine it has. 350, 400, 454? We do not know.

Yeah, I didn't notice the lack of power seat. Yeah, the engine is a mystery. I tried looking at the pic to tell, but I cant tell. Maybe someone here can take a guess. lol.

These cars are obviously appreciating assets now! Just a year ago, you guys thought I was NUTS when I said a fully loaded 76 Buick Estate Wagon would go between 15 and 20,000, and it had even more equipment that this Chev and the condition was at least equal. Suddenly, $15,000 for the Chev is not out of the ball park. For the money, I know which I would prefer, and it is not the Chevy!

Is that wood correct? And, what the heck is that sprayed under the hood over the passenger wheel well and part of the radiator support? Not knocking the car, just asking. Although, without the aforementioned options, I think the price is high.

It is Mike McCoy's car. It has a 400 small block in it. Woodgrain is NOS period correct as is the trim that surrounds the woodgrain. Car is perfect, except out of my price range.

The woodgrain color/pattern is correct for a 1972 Kingswood Estate, but not for the 1976 Caprice Estate which had a more medium orangey/brown tone and less interesting grain pattern. I actually prefer what's on the car to what it should have.

Wow. Already bid to $8000 on the first day. This auction will be very interesting to watch. Guess we can assume his reserve is $15k based on the craigslist ad. He may very well get it. He's certainly right that it is a very rare wagon.

That's something I never noticed in the pics on Craigslist. Your right, it sure looks like the woodgrain pattern on the 71-72 Caprice wagons. It looks identical to the woodgrain on my '72. I sure would like to have that that NOS woodgrain!

My goal is to have mine looking like this one someday.
